From what started as a group of strangers at the beginning of the trip we bonded over our passion for coffee. 

 

With our passports in hand and headed to a small village called Batak in Lintong, North Sumatra, Indonesia. The trip organiser carefully handpick 8 individuals (as though picked ripen cherries from a coffee tree) to attend a what they called "TRIBAL WISDOM" origin trip. An origin trip or so called coffee farm trip is a trip for those who play a role in the coffee industry, we range from coffee producers, roasters and baristas. We are here to learn and gain more knowledge from a passionate farmer Mr. Eko Purnomowidi, he is known worldwide through the coffee industry and is leading the Indonesian Specialty Coffee industry. Over the course of 3 days we learn what it is the adapt and use from mother nature. Keeping it organic is key to all farming, while it requires more physical work but the hovers is surely worth the effort.
