Fish heads and guts may be disgusting for some, I have found these as beautiful still life in which were perfect for a series of imagery, these photographs are all taken at the filleting station at Mapusa Fish Market. I simply placed the fish’s head and body on the surface that they were using to cut and fillet the fish and shot looking down at the head and the parts for a flattened perspective. The smell was something I could never get used to, it was as though you could taste what you are seeing

It was just fansinating to watch as these fish are being gutted and chopped up, I mean, how can it not. These men are using machete to fillet a fish, every now and then they would stop to sharpen their knife on a giant peice of stone. It would only take these men 30 seconds for each fish to be gutted and filleted ready for a scrumpcious meal.
